Date: May 29 2000 22:52:15 EDT From: "Songs of Praise" Subject: Songs of Praise - God Gave The World Dear friends, I hope everyone had a safe holiday (at least it was a holiday here in the USA). We are getting closer to releasing the new play. I think it's safe to say at this point that we are going to call our play "The Perfect Gift". This title comes from the new song I put on "Songs of Praise" this evening called "God Gave The World". I discovered this song on Ed Dowdall's "Granite Springs Music Company" web site a while back and was immediately taken with it. The song is a very reverent Christmas song and I was searching for Christmas songs. Rhesa Siregar helped out on the midi file and it sounds really good. Here is a link for the song page. There is a link from here to Ed's page where you can find lots of original music... http://songsofpraise.org/godgave.htm Hopefully everything will fall in place as we continue working on the last few scenes of the play. Please pray for our effort. Here are the lyrics for Ed's song "God Gave The World"... ======================================== "God Gave The World (The Perfect Gift)" (Verse 1) God gave the world the Word made flesh The tiny babe the silent creche. God gave the world on this darkest night His only Son, His glorious light. (Chorus) God gave the world God gave the world God gave the world The perfect gift. (Verse 2) God gave the world what none could give His child to die, that we might live God gave the world when hope was gone A second chance, a bright new dawn. (Repeat Chorus) God gave the world God gave the world God gave the world The perfect gift. (Verse 3) God gave the world the perfect gift This Holy child our souls to lift It matters not though we may stray The gift He gives still gives today. (Repeat Chorus) God gave the world God gave the world God gave the world The perfect gift. God gave the world The perfect gift. I'll tell you about them as they are completed. Yours in Christ, Elton Smith http://songsofpraise.org
