Mary was a young woman in the town of Nazareth. One day an angel appeared to her. Gabriel told her she would have a son. He would not be like other babies born into the world. He would be from the Spirit of God. Joseph was disturbed when he found out that Mary was going to have a baby, but an angel appeared to him and told him the child would be from God, and that he was to name him Jesus. When it came time for the child to be born, they were in Bethlehem to pay their taxes. All the inns were full and they had to stay in a stable. There Jesus was born. His birth was first announced to shepherds watching their flocks in the field. When Jesus was still young the family had to flee to Egypt in order to save his life.
