I wrote this melody while on vacation and sent it to Elizabeth in Scotland. Elizabeth wrote the wonderful words. I would like to dedicate this song to all the prisoners we met during our concerts. Please visit Elizabeth's site for more original praise songs. - Elton, July 25, 1998

Oh, Lord my God in life's dark prison,
No help is found and so I cry aloud to Thee.
There is no refuge from my past,
Till You bring me home at last,
And I acknowledge it's Your blood which sets me free.
You know the sins and faults which bind me
In this dark prison so I cry aloud to Thee.
You are the refuge from my past,
And You'll bring me home at last,
For I acknowledge it's Your blood which sets me free.
I praise Your name, Oh God, my Saviour,
Because You loved me and You always lifted me.
You changed my sorrow into peace
When this captive found release.
Now from my prison I forever will be free!
This song, like all the others is very nice indeed. The only problem i find here is that the lyrics written on a stone wall background makes "sing along" a bit difficult.Apart from this your songs are real nice and heart warming expecially those with the typical african rythmns Thomas Thomas Nartey (gingermalt_AT_yahoo_DOT_com) 2008-05-04

This is a truly pleasing song to both hear and sing. The words are uplifting and the melodic line is very enjoyable. Barbara (choirboo_AT_yahoo_DOT_com) 2007-02-12
