Nothing Would Be Without You

Rhesa contacted me and said "Hey, let's write a song together!". I sent him some musical ideas and he sent me some ideas. Eventually we had the music you are hearing. Now... I'm not all that good at writing lyrics, so I was worried. But God sent an inspiration and an opportunity. I was at a Cub Scout camp with my son. As I stood outside under the stars, the words started coming to me. I slept in a tent that night and woke up every few hours to write more of the lyrics. Thank you, Rhesa! - Elton, March 10, 2003

Many thanks to Peter Gringhuis for the wonderful recording and track. - Elton, October 26, 2007

Lyrics

(Introduction)

(Verse 1)
Lord, You said the Word
And the world was born
Joining the stars in the sky,
And the Word You spoke creation morn
Is our Savior who came down to die.
Though You knew the path that my heart would take
You did not turn away.
Now You live inside me, love and guide me,
Made me a part of Your plan.

(Chorus 1)
Lord, I wonder at Your grace
And the beauty of this place,
You have given me to dwell.
For I know that You created everything
And nothing would be... without You.

(Verse 2)
All Creation waits for The Day to come
When we are bathed in the light
And the veil that hides Your holy face
Will be lifted and all be made right.

(Key Change)

(Chorus 2)
Though this world may pass away
We are longing for The Day
We will join You in the sky.
For we know that You created everything
And nothing would be without You.

(Modified Chorus 1)
Lord, we wonder at Your grace
And the beauty of this place
You have given us to dwell.
For we know that You created everything
And nothing would be... without You.
