An old favorite Christmas song featuring a recording by Rhesa Siregar.

Lyrics

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes;
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray;
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
And fit us for Heaven to live with Thee there.

2010-11-07I like this version a lot
2007-12-09Hello again,

This version of "Away in a Manager" has proven to have great appeal to the children in our youth group. I tried it first with my grandaughter. She loved it. The small ones love the fact they can clap thir hands and move to the music. A most beautiful and refreshing change of pace to a wonderful standard Christmas Season song which I use in all of my Christmas plays at Church.

Again I thank you for the inspiration and great work you are doing in spreading the gospel through song to the world. It's so amazing and awesome you are reaching children. They are the church of the future.

God bless you in your work.
