Our Vacation on the East Coast April/May 2002 More New York CityAfter we walked through Central Park, we went to the
Sony Technology Lab.
This is free, but a lot of fun. Finally, we went to the top of the Empire State Building.

The Sony Wonderbot talks to people as they walk by. Nathaniel told him jokes to see if he would laugh.
We later saw a man inside the building who was controlling the robot.
He had all sorts of wires attached to him to control the robot.

Nathaniel using a gun to draw pictures on the screen.

The audio mixing room. Five people interact to create a musical work.
It doesn't sound very good, but its a lot of fun.

Looking up at the Empire State building from the sidewalk.
Because of the shape of the building, I'm not sure you can see the top.

Looking straight down from the Empire State building. We had no line at the elevators.
The lady assisting said that the normal wait is 2 hours!

Hollis looking through the quarter eating binoculars.

Looking south towards lower Manhattan from the top of the Empire State Building. It was amazing how polluted
the air was. There were almost no clouds, but the light was somewhat limited.
