Norman Borlaug was an agronomist who devoted his life to finding a way to feed starving people of the world. He has been called the father of the "Green Revolution". He worked with the Rockefeller Foundation in Mexico to develop a new dwarf grain which would produce three times the amount of grain they had been growing. The grain was also planted in India and Pakistan. Many people were fed because of the improved grain and famine did not happen in those countries. Environmentalists tried to stop his work. They said bioengineered food might make people sick. He received many awards for his work.
