This song started with a poem Larry wrote back in 1995. He sent it to me and Steve. I wrote the music and created the midi file (don't get dizzy on the merry-go-round!).
All three of us worked on refining the lyrics.

(Introduction)
(Verse 1)
High in the heavens
Yet here in my heart
Jesus abides!
Though I may wander,
He'll never depart
Jesus abides!
How can it be God is living in me,
Ever revealing His great mystery?
High in the heavens
Yet here in my heart
Jesus abides!
(Chorus 1)
He abides in me,
Jesus is here in my heart.
He abides in me,
I know He'll never depart.
How can it be God is living in me,
Ever revealing His great mystery?
For high in the heavens
Yet here in my heart
Jesus abides!
(Verse 2)
There with the Father
Yet deep in my soul
Jesus abides!
And to His Spirit
I've yielded control,
Jesus abides!
Through us revealing His mercy and love,
Now we sing praise to our Father above.
High in the heavens
Yet here in my heart
Jesus abides!
(Chorus 2)
He abides in me,
Jesus is here in my heart.
He abides in me,
I know He'll never depart.
Through us revealing His mercy and love,
Now we sing praise to our Father above,
For high in the heavens
Yet here in my heart
Jesus abides!
(Verse 3)
Till I see heaven
He's here in my heart
Jesus abides!
Then I'll know fully,
Not only in part.
Jesus abides!
Until that day, I am so very sure
His grace and mercy shall ever endure.
High in the heavens
Yet here in my heart
Jesus abides!
(Chorus 3)
He abides in me,
Jesus is here in my heart.
He abides in me,
I know He'll never depart.
Until that day, I am so very sure
His grace and mercy shall ever endure,
For high in the heavens
Yet here in my heart
Jesus abides!
(Ending)
For high in the heavens
Yet here in my heart
Jesus abides!
