Momma Look It's Jesus
(Based on Mark 10:13-16)
Written by Linda Edge and Elton Smith
Linda sent me another wonderful poem that she had written. This one describes a hypothetical encounter between a Jewish family and Jesus in Judea based on Mark 10. The part where the child asks if their family can meet Jesus too was so touching that we used it as the anchor for each verse. Be sure to listen to The Promise also. - Elton October 7, 1997
(Introduction)
When he came to Judea
Many people filled the streets
We came to see the Savior
With our children at our feet
There he is on the hillside
His hands are raised up high
He's praying to his Father
Up in heaven in the sky
Momma look it's Jesus
Can we go over too?
If we could only touch him
He would make us all brand new
Jesus saw the children
And took them on his knee
He put his hands upon them
And blessed them tenderly
All the children gathered
And knelt before God's son
Their eyes were filled with wonder
And his words touched everyone
Momma look it's Jesus
Can we go over too?
If we could only touch him
He would make us all brand new
Bring the little children
Let them come unto me
For of such is the kingdom
Their example we should see
Jesus saw the children
And took them on his knee
He put his hands upon them
And blessed them tenderly
Momma look it's Jesus
Can we go over too?
If we could only touch him
He would make us all brand new
