"Yes It's You, Lord" sums up in a short praise song all the joy that becomes ours when we are freed from the chains of sin and begin a new life in Christ! (Galatians 2:20). There is just something special about this song that is different than any of the other songs I know. It gives such strong hope! It gives assurance that we can be freed from sin's bondage! And the song ends with an invitation to accept Christ as Lord! I just love this song! To God be all the glory! - Tom

What could be more fitting for the 50th published song collaboration with Elton than this song, which celebrates the One who it's all about and who inspires the writing! Many thanks to Tom for coming up with the original melody, and to both Tom and Elton for sharing in the lyric writing. It's been a blessing, and just plain fun! - Larry

This is the 2nd collaboration between Tom, Larry and myself. Tom wrote the music. Tom and Elton created the midi file. All 3 of us worked on the lyrics. I love this song! - Elton, October 10, 1999

Lyrics

(Introduction)

(Verse 1)
I believe;
I've received
The grace of God
That saves one such as I.
Born again
To live for Him:
My Lord and God,
Your Name be glorified!

(Chorus)
It is You, Lord:
Who gives me all the joy in living.
Yes, it's You, Lord:
Through Your love poured out on me,
I'm free!

(Verse 2)
Yes, it's true:
I live for You.
My life is now
To glorify my King.
Changed within,
By such a friend.
My loving Christ,
Your praises I will sing!

(Repeat chorus)
It is You, Lord:
Who gives me all the joy in living.
Yes, it's You, Lord:
Through Your love poured out on me,
I'm free!

(Verse 3)
Come To Him,
Live again!
No longer bound:
From chains of sin, He'll free!
Lift your eyes --
In Christ, arise!
To sing His praise
For all eternity!

(Repeat chorus 2 times)
It is You, Lord:
Who gives me all the joy in living.
Yes, it's You, Lord:
Through Your love poured out on me,
I'm free!
