San Antonio ChristmasBy Bo ReynoldsI was about 10 years old when I first visited the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, an historic Mission that many Texans have a special reverence for. It was Christmas time and my whole family was there and the Alamo Plaza was lit up and twinkled with the rest of the Holiday lights in the river walk area. Mariachi music mixed with Holiday tunes and the smell of tamales and carnes filled the Plaza. It was a wonderful time with family and Holiday celebration and I carried those memories into adulthood until they finally became a song. - Bo Reynolds, 8 April 2012
When I was just a boy I dreamed I was a mariachi
Like Vicente Fernandez singing in the movies And when the church bells rang they woke me up And I saw the dancing lights Of San Antonio Christmas There were German waltzes and accordion polkas And Spanish guitar and all the different voices But in the candle light of the Alamo mission We all sang Silent Night That San Antonio Christmas Many years have passed And I've been on my own now But I think of my family back in San Antonio And when I close my eyes I can hear their voices And I can see the dancing lights Of San Antonio Christmas And when I close my eyes I can hear their voices And I can see the dancing lights Of San Antonio Christmas I can see the dancing lights Of San Antonio Christmas Copyright © 1999 Bo Reynolds ![]() This song has been displayed 16739 times.
