Still My Heart

This is our third song after a three year break. I wrote the music and started working on the lyrics. Steve said it sounded like a Psalm. He and Larry added some of the best lines. Steve made the wonderful recording with help from Larry on the bass guitar. We hope our simple song brings you peace. - Elton, February 27, 2018

Lyrics

Long ago
I was young and felt so free
In a world
Full of love made just for me
But the wheels of time kept turning
And those days are far behind

Still my heart
Help me calm this raging fire
Still my heart
Let me run and not grow tired
For the path that lies before me
Is a mountain I must climb

Still my heart
Don't let my courage slip away
Give my heart
The strength to live another day

For the dreams that draw me onward
Are alive within my soul
Still my heart with gentle words
And make me whole

Every day
How I wish I could be strong
Even now
As I sing this simple song
I can hear your words they're calling me
To rise above it all

Still my heart
Don't let my courage slip away
Give my heart
The strength to live another day

For the dreams that draw me onward
Are alive within my soul
And the promise of morning
Is all I need to know

Take me far
Just like a ship out on the sea
Hold me close and whisper words
So full and free
Free of pain, and free of anger
Til at last I come to find
That your words of peace are living in my mind

For your words
They still my heart
Yes your words
They still my heart
