This is a song about freedom. I was determined to write a happy, encouraging, uplifting song. I wrote the lyrics for the first 2 parts. When I got to the third section, all I could think of was the last line and asked Larry for help. He came through, as usual. - Elton, November 25, 2022

Lyrics

(Part one)
Do you want to dance?
Do you want to touch the sky?
Do you want to soar?
Do you want to say goodbye to darkness
Do you want to dance?
Do you want to soar?
Do you want to fly?
Do you want to dance?
Do you want to soar?
Do you want to fly?

(Part 2)
The darkest night can lead to a brighter dawn
And peace will come to those who endure the fight
The joy of heaven springs from my humble heart
And life comes when I choose to embrace the light

(Part 3)
This I promise you won’t have to walk alone
We can share the joys and sorrows along the way
Though the journey may be long
When we’re together we are strong
Take my hand as we walk this road to freedom

(Repeat Part 1)
Do you want to dance?
Do you want to touch the sky?
Do you want to soar?
Do you want to say goodbye to darkness
Do you want to dance?
Do you want to soar?
Do you want to fly?
Do you want to dance?
Do you want to soar?
Do you want to fly? to freedom!
Do you want to dance?
Do you want to soar?
Do you want to fly?
