Face To FaceBy Russell Adams, Elton Smith and Larry HolderCCLI Number: 2961785
This song started as some lyrics I received from Russell. I wrote the music and created the midi file. All 3 of us worked on refining the lyrics. - Elton, March 17, 2000 ![]() ![]() ![]()
(Introduction for 8 measures)
(Verse 1) Just to see You, my Lord, face to face, And to thank You for all of Your mercy and grace. I will walk by Your side On those streets made of gold, In the glory and the light of Your face! (Chorus) Face to face I will be with You in glory Where the day shines eternal in Your Light. Lord, my joy will be complete When I bow there at Your feet, In Your presence forever to abide. (Verse 2) Just to hear You, dear Lord, call my name, And to know I can stand before You without shame. I will lay at Your feet Everything I call mine, For the honor to be known by Your Name! (Repeat Chorus) Face to face I will be with You in glory Where the day shines eternal in Your Light. Lord, my joy will be complete When I bow there at Your feet, In Your presence forever to abide. (Verse 3) May the world see Your face every day In my heart, in my life, in the words that I say. Speak to me, I will hear Let me know You are near, Through Your love in Your grace I will stay. (Repeat Chorus 2 times) Face to face I will be with You in glory Where the day shines eternal in Your Light. Lord, my joy will be complete When I bow there at Your feet, In Your presence forever to abide. (Ending) Face to face. Please forward this note to the others that contributed in the creation of this marvelous song, "Face to Face". I discovered your web site around 2 years ago. It has been such a blessing for our church. My wife, Karen, and I lead the congregational Sunday School singing at our small church in LaGrange NY. Karen played the accordion and really added some "spunk" to our Independent Baptist church. Just before we found your site, Karen had an operation to remove part of her lung for lung cancer. No she never smoked in her life. We have no idea where it came from, but we are sure it was with our Lord's approval. Before Karen passed away on Nov 9, 2003 (age 55), a couple of dear sisters came over to visit Karen. Karen was on oxygen and could hardly talk at the time. Well they sang "Face to Face" for the 2 of us. The tears really flowed, as mine are right now. They added a little "country twang" to it, but that was OK. When they were done, Karen softly asked them to sing it for the funeral, which they did. Karen wrote music also and 6 of her creations were played also for the service. What a witness your song, along with Karen's had on the crowd that was there. In Karen's prayer journal, she was constantly praying that the Lord would use her vessel and that she could be transparent so that He would show through. I sense that you and your fellow composers feel the same way. Thank you so very much for your beautiful ministry. Praise the Lord. No words can express the gratitude that I have in my heart. As I watched my wife in that coffin, your words did so very much to give me peace.
God bless you all.
